    Which spark plugs, oil?

I just purchased a '79 GS750 and want to get working on the engine.
Which plugs & oil are recommended?
Where can I buy a service manual, parts manual?
    Does Chilton make one?
    Thanks.

    Hi Dave,

In your last thread about parts someone posted a link to Cliff's website which apparently you haven't explored. The answer to all your questions is contained within that link. http://www.thegsresources.com/_forum...d.php?t=222049

    Good luck

You will find your manual here...
As for parts I like to use this site !!

Find all the OEM parts you need to keep in stock at your shop here, with over 4 million parts! Also browse our apparel, accessories, riding gear, and aftermarket products.

      Good luck

Buy the original sparkplugs, not the ones with resistors in them. The newer ones were designed to stop interference with the old tube televisions and create a smaller spark. They shoul still stock the correct plugs but you will probabbly have to supply the correct plug id.

Thanks for the quick reply on the plugs, I found the NGK's at Napa today, that helped.
I did see the Cliff's website, thanks Ed.

Unless I missed it, I didn't see a place to buy physical parts/service/owner's manual in paper form.
I do see the pdf service manual, but this one is "1976"; maybe it is the one I need for my 1979 model?

On the steering tube of this bike, it says GS750-39132
            Is this a 750B or 750C?

Also where is the VIN located?
