headlight and electrical issues

I have a 1977 GS750. this might be a stupid question. My headlight is working when the bike is on but on the switch the high beam switch is actually low and the other way around for the low switch. what could be causing this? I've already checked for melted wires or grounding issues and I can't figure it out.

Take off your headlight and see how it's wired. Should be a plug in type of set up, but po could have change the connections and switched the lower beam and high beam wires. terrylee

Lesson learned, carefully inspect your bike's electrical to see if your PO liked to express his creative talents in an electrifying way.
