    1982 suzuki gs1100e starter

I'm just wondering if a 78 GS 850 E has the same starter as a 1982 Suzuki GS1100e mine seized up and a guy has 2 spares for his 850. I'm wanting to buy one but not shure it will fit.

It will likely fit and work.

I know that a 650 needs a slightly different starter, but I have moved several others between models.

I would be curious to see this " '78 850E".

The 850 did not show up until the '79 model year, and all of them are G (or GL), not E models, indicating shaft-drive.

Well it's actually a 750 but I think he Franckenstein it. Different parts on it but the starter looks identical to mine so I was hoping it will fit perfectly

I've noticed with the larger displacement motors Suzuki used bearings and the only difference in fitment was the mounts that were centered or offset. I have switched the mount part of the starter and they fit all models. The 1150 starter is different since the barrel? and the caps are different lengths and they have a different amount of teeth.
