    What's the right kind of wire...

    ... for rewinding my GS1000S stator?

    Yes, the old one was fried beyond belief, black and gnarly and an 'orrible sight indeed, Your Honour. So I forked out and bought a newie on eBay, installed no problems and the charging system is sparky and zappy once again. Schweet!

    However, looking at the old cooked stator now currently parked on my workbench, I thought that it would be a bit of a waste just tossing it in the bin...

    ... so I'd like to have a shot at rewinding it myself.

    Can anyone tell me
    1. what grade and/or type copper winding wire I will need;
    2. approx. what length I'll need; and
    3. what might be the pitfalls on the path to a successfully rewound stator, that you chaps/ chappettes are aware of?!

    Cheers,
    Mike.

      You're a legend, thanks!

      Looks to be straight-forward. In fact the most difficult part will prob. be trying to source a quality epoxy resin here in the antipodes. I'll let yers all know how I go...
