Are you sure they are out ? Did you try grounding each pin at the switch plug ?

Not sure which they are , but I bought some real small LED replacements for much cheaper than that. The BA7 (7mm barrel) is a pretty small bulb and after looking around (and passing by some outrageous prices) I found these.

LED replacement bulbs can fit numerous vehicle applications such as dashboard lights, instrument cluster lights and gauge lights. The single-contact BA7s LED bulb replaces traditional 3898 and 16037 bulbs. It has 1 LED that emits a wide 100° viewing angle. European midget bayonet base for easy plug-and-play installation. The energy-efficient bulb has 12V DC operation and is designed to last 10,000 hours on your car, truck, SUV, or van—8 times longer than incandescent bulbs. Available in cool white, blue, green, amber and red.

I just googled and they are these. I found them even cheaper.

You can find most sizes cheap.

          Posplayr,

doesn't the led replacements require a resistor? I remember someone replaced their gear position lights with led bulbs and used a resistor, I just can't remember who right now

Yes LED's do indeed need resistors and all these bulbs have them built in. If it has a standard socket on it assume it is a drop in replacement.

One other point I did not bother to mention but will do now, most idiot lights are usually not on or only minimal power so changing to an LED will have little effect on total load and therefore one need not worry too much if you still have a SHUNT R/R. But if swapping out from everything from Incandescent to LED, strongly consider getting a SERIES R/R.
