Short??

Took bike out for drive and she stalled no lights or anything,lifted seat jiggled wires and came back.Drove a bit further and same thing,bent the positive wires up a bit and fine when I put saddle back on smoke from under it (mainly from negative with seat off), Ignition was off and lights came on (live must of hit saddle base). Discovered positive was loose.Earth terminal on battery melted and 1wire started to melt.Noticed a black /white wire coming from side of fuse box (held on by screw had also melted ).Does this go to positive or negative on battery.I`ll order new battery and replace melted wires,just need to know about the black/white wire.Bike had been running fine till now.Conan

It's a ground.

Cheers(can I ground it off negative on battery or off frame).Hopefully it was just the positive touching off seat that caused the problem.
