80s GS450 left switch mystery piece

    Hi everyone,

I recently dismantled the switch gear on what I'm told is an 81' GS450ET (if that's even possible). I thought I kept good records of where everything went but I can't for the life of me figure out where this little plastic piece came from. I seem to remember it being with a spring. The only thing I can think of is that maybe it goes between the spring and metal pin that touches the turn signal contacts?

Here's an image of the piece in question:

And here's an image of the switch

Does the turn signal switch still have a noticeable detent as in goes back into center "off" position ? Or maybe it's an insulator like you're thinking. That switch is unlike the suzuki ones that I have seen.

Thanks for the response. The turn signal does give a noticeable click in the off position, I don't have it wired back up yet but all the controls seem to action properly.
