    Calling member "Steve"

    Hi Steve

I am posting this message here as my e-mails directly to you seem to be landing up in your spam box, as I have not had any reply from you.

I would like to know what is the status of the package of parts you so kindly collected together for me, to be shipped to South Africa?

Our summer is in full swing and I am delaying maintenance on electrical system in eager anticipation of those electrical parts (and others).

Please let me know via e-mail what the status is and if there are any problems that need to be sorted out?

    Thanks!

    Kind regards

No need for such a flag, Jim.

I have been corresponding with member Steve for a long time and he very kindly agreed to source electrical and other parts for me and ship them to me in South Africa.

Despite numerous e-mails directly to member Steve in this regard recently, he does not seem to be getting my messages.

I did post earlier in the "GS Motorcycle Discussion" forum above, without any response from member Steve, so the only alternative for me is to post up here in the technical categories that member Steve usually replies to.

If you have direct contact with member Steve, I would appreciate it if you could let him know that I am looking for him please.

      Thank you.

Have you sent Steve a Private Message? That's the normal method of communication on the forum. Most members have their email address in their profile but email should be a secondary communication path, not primary.

Thank you for your comment Ed. However, if you look at member Steve's signature, you will note that he exhorts members to send him an e-mail when requesting his famous spreadsheet for valve adjustments.

This fact has made it apparent to me that member Steve specifically does not prefer PM's as primary communication path on this forum, don't you agree?

Steve needs an email address in order to send the spreadsheet. He can not transfer the document to someone via PM.

I called him last week on Friday and then received a text from him on Saturday. He's fine just extremely busy with more house and shop remodeling as well as the normal church and work stuff. He said he'd log in but I haven't talked to him since so not sure if he did.

Bumping this back up to shake Steve out of the trees. This issue needs resolution.

Was it not resolved? Nobody who would know has posted either way.

Edit: Oh, there's a whole 'nother thread. One of those threads.
