I bought this bike over the winter and am hoping to have it ready to safety and certify in the spring and put it on the road. Overall it's in a good operating state but the charging system on it is dead. I'm replacing the r/r, stator and flywheel on it (1 magnet is shattered) and was wondering if I could get a rectifier/regulator unit recommendation from one you GS experts? What r/r's have you guys installed that seem to be giving you the best luck for a long lasting charging system? I want to avoid the OEM part because I get the impression from reading these forums that that's one of the main causes of these issues with our GS charging systems?
