where does this wire go?!
may be a dumb question but I've looked all over the diagrams to find a place for this wire (the green one). and its probably just a ground or something but i want to be 100% sure before i dismiss it as such.

Most likely a ground, but based on the lack of information it's not something I'd bet my life on.

It's not just "a" ground, it is "THE" ground.
However, you will be better off if you put it in the trash and upgrade your system with an SH775 R/R from Polaris.Comment

new question, i know where the black wire goes, but the 3 yellow ones that come from the starter? where do those go? please don't question why things look the way they do. I just need help putting things where they belong.

also, the current R/R.. so it over heats and burns up the stator.. can i just mount it to the front of the bike so it gets more air.. till i buy a new one that doesn't create heatComment

Yes that will really help the R/R but not do a thing to help the stator.
Realize that those yellow wires mean that that stator has already been replaced once. Where do you imagine you are in the burn, rinse, repeat cycle on that stator? Chrispy or just a little brown?Comment

yeah i just read a little on the charging health... so the only way to not overheat my stator is to get a Series R/R.. still can't find a page thats trust worthy to buy one off from except Ricks Motor Sports and its $150. back to that yellow yellow yellow wire thing.. they don't connect directly to the R/R do they? i thought the R/R was connected to a clip that went to the "generator"... now you're gonna tell me "generator" and stator are the same aren't you? (I'm trying to go completely off the wiring diagram for my bike, its has the "generator" showing 3 wires, 1 blue/white, 1 green/yellow, and 1 yellow) although if you're saying my stator has been replace (i got this bike with very little info, all of which so far I've found a lie) then the wires (Y,Y,Y) are not normally this colors?
according to that picture below, i have my B/W and Y wires that connect to the stator. how do i find out which one, if any, connect to the y/y/y
IMG_7859.jpgsorry thats upside down
lastly i hope my stator is on the just a little brown side

alright so i understand how the R/R and stator get wired together and work together. I'm going to order a new R/R once i find a place to get one (can someone post a link to a page to purchase a SH775?)Comment

The SH775's are robust as heck. You can get a used one for $45 shipped...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Polaris-Rang...VXGAaa&vxp=mtr
Order up one of those Triumph jumper harnesses for it too. The part number is in various other threads on the forum here.Ed

thanks Nessism!, i found a triumph jumper harness for $10 or something.. anyways just to solidify the thought.. after i purchase both items, the jumper harness is plugging into the R/R and then the stator side, (the 3 wires) are getting bullet connected or solder connected to the stators 3 yellow wires. (other 2 wires +&-) + going to + on battery and - going to ground. Im almost 100% thats correct. but i like reassuranceThe SH775's are robust as heck. You got it. A fuse in line with the + to the battery is a good idea, or run the + to your fuse box feed. That's the one connection where it's okay to plug back into the existing harness.thanks Nessism!, i found a triumph jumper harness for $10 or something.. anyways just to solidify the thought.. after i purchase both items, the jumper harness is plugging into the R/R and then the stator side, (the 3 wires) are getting bullet connected or solder connected to the stators 3 yellow wires.
