    Motorcyle headlight VS car headlights.

Do car headlights swap out into our GS headlight buckets?? I was wondering if I can get an headlight for the 81 450L project bike at an auto parts store. Sadly the little bit of reflective glass that was still around the plug doesnt have any printing so I dont have anything to cross reference off of .

Deep-ends on whether you've got a 7" headlamp bucket, same as car size (ignoring 5.75" for the moment). All that I can say with any certainty, is that some bikes will take a 7" H4 car unit, and some won't. Of the ones that do, there might still need to be a little bit of jiggering around with the fitment, as the slots/tongues aren't in identical places.
However, the 7" headlamp m/cycle bucket was fitted to many hundreds of thousands of bikes kitted out by Stanley, so you can find one somewhere. Beware though; Stanley also supplied many makers with some very odd sizes too.
There are plenty of purported 7" buckets on ebay, but whether they're actually car-sized 7" units, I don't know.

I hadnt measured the beauty ring but its a small bulb. Probably not much more than 7"..if that.

Suzuki want 94 bucks for one so I was thinking maybe a car bulb would be cheaper...maybe.

Chuck, let me see if I still have one left over from one of my upgrades a couple of years ago.

How much of it do you need? Just the lens/reflector? Bulb? Mounting/chrome ring? Bucket? Ears?
