    82 GS1100E /85 GS1150 instrument Frankenstein wiring

Spent a full day "weaving spaghetti " and I'm most of the way there

The objective is 1150 instruments plug and play into 82 1100 loom (brand new)

    so - question 1

the 1100e has 2 wires exiting the speedometer which I guess are for the speed sensor

    just leave them disconnected ?

You doing this all by colors, not looking at schematics?

Those two wires are part of the TSCU distance sensor for blinker cancel logic.

Schematics, colors , a circuit tester and " a wing and a prayer"

everything tests out so far ....... proof will come later this week

I'll confess that electrickery is my personal nemesis ( relatively) ...... tear down an engine, fabricate parts, change bearings, time engines etc. etc. etc. All comes very easy, however , if I knew someone locally with your skill set I'd certainly pay them to do it !!

        As a side note/question

I've taken no chances with the electrical system and replaced 90% of the electrical components with new genuine spares or superior replacements and will be following the earthing and wiring hook ups suggested on the site ( thanks for all he excellent work by the way)

        new stator
        new loom
        new fusebox
        new starter relay
        SH775 with triumph plugset
        new coils
        new leads
new (dyna) ignition system and 3 good OEM systems available " just in case"
        new ignition switch
new handlebar switchgear and brake/side stand switches

why the expense ??? ..... I want to this once and forget about this aspect of the build for years 🙂🙂🙂

        anyway - here's the question

if I simplify the unnecessary Suzuki excesses of the period ( too many warning lights) and omit the light outage relay will it have any significantly detrimental impact.

I don't need gear position , bulb failure, self cancelling indicators just oil pressure/ neutral/high beam really and, in fact, a voltage meter instead of oil temp would have been a better addition IMHO
