Stupid question, but could save me more hours of greiving.

My question is whether there should be something attached to the brown wire terminal towards the bottom middle of the attached photo. Every other terminal in the bike has a connection so it wouldn't make sense that this terminal wouldn't have a connection. I believe this may be the reason that my tail light works but my brake light doesn't.

What bike is that on? It's a good idea to add your bike year and model to your sig so you won't have to answer that question again.

Not all the wires in the bucket will be used but I don't remember right off hand which they are. Are you sure the brake light switches and bulb are good?

There are wiring diagrams here http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/

It is there if you are adding some auxiliary lighting.
In stock configuration it is not attached to anything.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
