Best Spark Plugs and Wires for a 78 GS750?
Recently lost spark on one cylinder and I am assuming I need a plug wire. Tried a swapping plugs and no spark, swapped plug wires and its back. The "bad" wire has visible corrosion leading me to think the others are probably on their way out as well. I am looking to upgrade and was wondering what the best options for performance and reliability would be. Also will be replacing plugs if their are any suggestions in that department. Running a Dyna S ignition with Dyna 3ohm green coils. Thanks.Tags: None -

Currently running NGK plugs nothing to complain about just wondering if there's something better out there. As far as wires, I like the looks of the red NGK racing wires but can't find any direct fit/don't know exactly what I should be looking for. Anybody using these?Last edited by Guest; 05-11-2017, 08:21 PM.Comment

Copper core 7mm wires w/resistor caps
It's hard to beat the stock configurationEd
To measure is to know.

it was just the suppressor wires. I stopped using the suppressor caps when I switched to the dyna coils. the only real reason I went with the suppressor cores is because they were the only ones I could find at a reasonable price that were 8mm. and I bought the set of 8 so I could have wires for both bikes lol.Comment

Getting ready to order some NGK BP8ES plugs for my 1980 GS850GT as well. That's what's in it now. However, I am seeing that there are TWO varieties of this plug:
BP8ES SOLID/3994 - Non-Projected
BP8ES/2912 - Resistor - Projected
I can't recall which we use. I'm assuming the BP8ES SOLID - 3994, but could someone please confirm this??
Thanks!!Comment

Actually, I think I'm off... I have B8ES - 2411, not BP8ES... NGK application guide is useful and protects you from yourself!Getting ready to order some NGK BP8ES plugs for my 1980 GS850GT as well. That's what's in it now. However, I am seeing that there are TWO varieties of this plug:

I bought some new boots for my cables but are the cables themselves replacable? Arent they connected directly to the coils? And should I use 7mm replacement ones and does it matter which ones? Sorry. Thats alot of questions. HahaComment
