mechanical to digital tach

1980 GS850G I have no speedo or tach. How can I install a digital tach? Where would I hook up a wire to feed the tach?

depending on the tach, if it has a lead wire you can just wrap it around any spark plug wire 3 to 5 turns. Or, you can connect directly to the trigger wire on the coil
