Thanks for the SH775 advice and more

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you guys who share your advice, knowledge, wisdom, tips and tricks in this forum. This forum is fantastic. I have learned so much. I don’t post so often, I read mostly. Because the things I wonder is already posted and discussed.

My battery on my GR650 started to struggle and I was wondering what could be the cause? After some research in this forum, in the manual and some measuring I finally figured it out. It was a bad r/r. 12.5V@5000 rpm and wrong resistance and more. I almost immediately order a new regulator (shunt type) from the EBay, but I just had to check what you guys do in this situation? I didn’t know about the Shunt VS Series r/r and SH775. But thanks to you and your experience a learned that don’t go for a another Shunt type of r/r. Go for a SH775. I ordered a used SH775 from EBay and install it. Now everything is working perfect. I’m measuring 14.6V@5000. :-)

I’m celebrating this with a beer. Wishing you all a good evening and thanks once again for this magnificent forum. Never stop sharing your knowledge

    Sincerely

Great feedback - I also added these r/r to my bikes. What kind of beer did you use to celebrate from Norway?

Hi Jorgeno. I too have received a lot of great info and advice from this site over the years. I hope you stick around. You should post a little something about yourself over in the GS Owners forum, and maybe post a few pictures of your bike.
