Removal of 1985 GS550L seat

Hello all, Just bought my first bike. Bought a non-runner 1985 GS550L, with a dead battery. I have looked all over what I can see on the bike in the dark, and cant find how to take the seat off to get to it. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Never had this model, looking at the parts breakdown the seat opens via a lock opperated by the ignition key or maybe another key on the key ring

yeah its the ignition key in the left hole in the shiny grab bar
might have to press down a bit on rear of seat
use caution may be siezed up inside.
