    Wiring harness question

    I have the opportunity to pick up a NOS harness for a '79 GS750L. Part # 36610-45201.
My bike is a '78 GS750E....I'm wondering if this harness will be suitable to replace the bastardised (non-GS750) harness currently in my bike?
The best number I can get for my bike is 36610-45002 or -45005.
    Cheers

For what it's worth, I'm using the wiring harness diagram available here http://gsarchive.bwringer.com/ for my bike and it seems to fit my needs just fine despite being written for a number of different models which leaves me to believe there are only subtle differences between them. These diagrams are drawn in color and makes things a heck of a lot easier!

It'll work fine. There might be a few things different but nothing major, easily workable.

Don't know of a difference between 78 and 79. However, I only look at the non L models. My only thought is that the L harness might be longer or shorter in some areas.

Easy fix though so you should be good.

Not sure what's considered good pricing though.

Update: I received the NOS harness (GS750L) and apart from the fuel gauge wiring and the "starter disconnect" wiring the harness will be 100% compatible with my '78 750E! The colour coding is the same, as are the various multi-pin connectors.
As the colder/wet weather months approach, I'll start replacing the existing wiring, as well as replacing fork stanchions and a repaint.
