Suzuki GS1000e ignition
Not really up with electrics so would appreciate some advice if possible. When I insert the key into the ignition switch and turn on the green neutral light and oil light come on briefly then lose power and go out so I turn off with the key and turn on again and it is okay. Sometimes I have to do this twice. Does anyone know where I should start looking please. -
Your ignition switch
You have to go in by taking the headlight shell out of the way
Then, 2 mounting bolts from the bottom and put the switch on your bench
I small bolt to remove the electrical plate
Carefully remove the plastic cover, there's a small spring and ball in there
Clean all of the copper contacts on the plate with 2000 grit sand paper, or chemically clean
Same with the plates
A dab of dielectric grease and assembly is the reverse of disassembly
If it looks burnt, post up some pictures
And clean the wire connector1978 GS 1000 (since new)
