1982 Suzuki GS1100G Rear Turn Signals

    Folks

Has anyone ever disassembled their turn signals? I want to add running lights in the rear as I have up front. This requires a dual filament bulb socket and a slight wiring mod. I would appreciate any input.

I want to keep them stock. The stock ones I found on Ebay are in poor cosmetic shape and I am thinking of disassembling my rear housing and using it with purchased front internals.

Be careful with your running lights at the rear. You will need red lenses in most states, I don't know about Texas.

Yes, you can replace the guts, at least on some, 1100E's & 1150's, not sure about your exact bike. I too like orig. but I've used several K&S replacements, & the only difference I could find was the color of the wires, the body, guts, trim ring, gasket, lenses are all exact match. Don't know where you get the front guts, not available from Suzuki, but the guts from the K&S is the same, except the wire color.

Orange lens are good here in TX. I will use the keyed 12 Volt brake light source to supply power to running lights while leaving the existing setup for the blinker. I already replaced the flasher with a NOVITA EL13. I de-pinned the stock harness connector and moved the wires around to work with this flasher. I then used a Kawasaki circular rubber grommet to hold the new flasher and mount it on the battery box. Added Video below:

I have looked at them and I simply cant see a way to disassemble without damaging them. So I am going with used ones for now. These turn signals that are on the bike are in excellent shape. I will check out the K&S website to see what they offer.
