Well no one talks about this top secret upgrade. Kinda hush-hush, but for you....

Longitudinal. You can read the “my charging system Sorted” thread linked in my signature. Will give you an idea of how and why the most popular upgrade on a Suzuki GS is a better Regulator/Rectifier than what came on the bike.

        Perfect....Thank you....

There was two of you that recently dealt with this, (which is what pushed me to do mine), but I couldn't find either one quickly.

And I am glad I did mine, before it quit completely.

I still have the good Triumph connectors in a baggie on my workbench to replace the original ones I bought that had to be crimped and put together. I know my crimps weren't the best and I will put the replace with the Triumph plugs this winter when I do some other wiring upgrades.

OK... I just saw that the electrical section is swarming with posts on this topic. According to Steve, mine already has a Honda upgrade. But I do notice that the other lights dim when the signals flash on.

Rich, where is your fuse holder and starter relay (solenoid)?

I am wanting to mount my SH 775 like yours but man, it is tight in there.

The RR is mounted to a plate that was designated for a tool bag on this model. The Starter solenoid and fuse box are mounted where they’re suppose to be, on a different plate inboard of the toolbag plate. I’ll see if I have a pic. Right now I’m sitting at Wendy’s waiting to pick my kid up at work. No high speed data to search right now. I’ll try when I get home.

For location purposes, this is what mine looks like compared to Rich's.

As can be seen, I have a fuse holder, a starter relay and a signal relay where the SH 775 needs to be.

Larry, Don't know if the 1978 is the same but here is mine:

Had to make a spacer to mount it squarely and enlarge one side of the mounting holes. It's tight but it will work!

Larry, it looks like Rons setup may be just the ticket for you. I see very little difference between his electrical plate and yours.

Thanks Ron and Rich. I'll give it a go tomorrow and will probably have to do some fabricating -- not my strong suit. But it has to get done.

Yes, Ron's picture will also work for my application. Just need to get some aluminum stock for a spacer.
