    GS1100 Air Cleaner seal issue

    20240514_183741.jpg
What have y'all found that works as a replacement for the air cleaner seal? Tried some weather stripping but even after sanding and using brake cleaner on the mounting surface I can't get it to stick well enough to hold up in the air box.

I too had similar problem. Tried adhesive weather stripping, did not survive first installation. Triied gluing on some stock rubber stuff I found, could not find stuff of proper size and properties.

Ended up spending what I thought was way too much for a new OEM filter . . . and that was years ago.... dont know if available or at what cost these days.

Ended up buying the round marine/auto grade weather stripping from Lowes and applied some CA glue that has held up tremendously so far. I was going to purchase a new one but I don't think they're available at all anymore.

I used urethane self stick weatherstrip. If it's not sticking well, I suggest scrubbing down the mounting surface using scotchbrite and something like Bar Keepers Friend. You can tell the surface is clean if the water sheets over the surface. If the water beads, there is contamination.
