      And realize, you should position the cams like the manual shows before measuring the clearance. If you simply point the cam lobe away from the bucket, the clearance will show greater than with proper cam position. This is because the adjacent cam lobe will be depressed, and pushing up on the cam, thus skewing it in the journal clearance.

        Could not find 8 valve 997cc engine with shaft drive,those "T" and "E" are chain drive 16 valve engines I believe.

          It's right there. GS1000E/S/L/G - G is the shaft drive. The Valve clearance procedure is the same for all the 8V models.
