    Fork service.

1981 GS1100EX I've removed the front wheel and begin polishing the forks, The left one is pretty much stripped and looking pretty good, I replaced the pulsing rotors with new Niche rotors which I'll check for run-out and have noticed the forks are a bit notchy.
I checked partzilla and didn't find a pair of steering stem bearings so I ordered one of the thousands of sets of All Balls on the internet. The wheel bearings are new recently and I'll replace the fork oil while I'm at it.
Anything else I need to check or be aware of? I've done a few Honda's and have a Haynes manual.

replace the damper rod piston ring (#21) and the teflon bushing (#8), new o-rings, and seals. Don't cheap out on seals, get some OEM. All balls stuff isn't very good and i wouldn't use their seals or any house brand seals.

Run some 15wt maxima green label fork oil, it's a cheap but good fork oil.

If you have stripped the forks down to bare alum and have sanded or polished them, take them to a automotive paint shop and have them clear coat then in a good quality catalyzing clear coat to keep them looking good. The stuff in the can doesn't hold up.
