Is the vin on the frame and motor always the same? My title matches the motor but not the frame?

on import bikes the title should match the frame(neck stamping).
i think on pre-80 GS models that the engine should have a partial of your vin on it.
after 80 they became batch numbers on the engines.
HD title's require both engine/frame/tranny match or some kinda dumb shlt.
bottom line is your title should match your frame 100%. -
YOU HAVE a problem. Most if not all motor vehicle department go by the frame vin #s If the frame and title vin doesn't match you need to check with the seller you bought the bike from.
In Calif they list both the Vin # and the engine # on the title.. Still the frame # is the important one. Those two serial numbers are differentComment
