I'm almost done with the bull work on my 1100EX, but still need to weld the frame tube where the sidestand mounting bracket is.
The PO apparently had whacked the sidestand pretty good - the bracket is "flattened" into the frame tube and the mounting tab is essentially parallel with the ground. In addition, that impact actually ruptured the bottom of the frame tube under the bracket, over a length about 3"-4" long.
My buddy is going to look at it this Thursday & most likely we'll just weld it up. i'll try to take some before & after pics.
My question is:
What angle is the sidestand tab supposed to be? I need to bend the tab back into position, but i don't know what angle that is - if anyone has an 80-81 1100E I would apprciate it if you could measure the tab angle & let me know (measured while the bike is upright on the center stand).
