    Fluid characteristics

Do fork oil and brake fluid have distinct colors? Or do the colors vary depending on manufacturer?

Bake fluid is usually clear, turns brown as it absorbs water and rust. Some brake fluids are dyed certain colors to aid in changing out the fluid.

Fork oil, blue or red, probably other colors are common too.
