    Respoking rims

    Was wondering if anyone here respokes rims? Am looking to get my 78 1000 C rims done sometime this winter.
    MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
    1978 GS 1000 E, 1979 GS 1000 S, 1973 Yamaha TX 750, 1977 Kawasaki KZ 650B1, 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing, 1983 CB 650SC Nighthawk, 1972 Honda CB 350K4, 74 Honda CB550

    NEVER SNEAK UP ON A SLEEPING DOG..NOT EVEN YOUR OWN.


    I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

              Its easy to do but better left to a expert as spoke tension is critical aswell as straightness. Ive lace all my wheels but always left the final trueing to someone who i trust as im running s/s spokes which are slightly more brittle and one or two break every year. Yes even with heavy 8 guage butted spokes.

                  should be 2 hr labor charge MAXIMUM.. I can do it in less than 1

                  I have a truing stand.

                  leave the existing spokes in it so the "KEY SPOKES" are in tact.

                  inner and outer spokes have a set spacing like to like and like to opposite.

                  wobble less than 0.002" and hop 0.002" are you going to get new nipples and spokes ? do you want the rim re chromed?

                    I want them completely redone..The hub will require polishing and re cleared and the rim, which is aluminum, will need polished as well

                        Yes...I've done complete re-lacings and I've trued the the drag bike spokes more than once, (over 140mph)...

                        Really, it's not rocket science...people have been doing it for longer than we have been alive and the facts are all written down.

                        Buy your spokes, google up some instructions and have at it.

                          Lacing a wheel is a breeze. GOOGLE Lacing motorcycle wheels. Its really easy. a truing station is as simple as a spare swing arm. And instead of worrying about wheel weights, try the beads.
