    Do I need a special kind of clamp?



    It's reguarl 9.5mm fuel line and it fit pretty tight over the fitting. I tried typical hose clamps and fuel line clamps...but she's leaking oil like a sieve. I would like to avoid spending $100 to have my oil lines professionally done when I'll be making alterations to placement and such, but it's getting tedious to scrub the oil off the concrete. It's also spraying on my tire...bleh...

      Fuel hose for a high pressure oil line? What are you thinking?

      You might be able to make a line from Earl's parts but it won't be cheap. Hose shop is another possibility. No way I'd run fuel hose and a $1 band clamp; your life could be at stake when the line splits.

          The line is rated for 25 bar and is heavily braided...I have my doubts about it rupturing.

              You should be good then, but that's not "regular" fuel line (which is only good to about 50 psi).

                  Plug in your headlight.
                  I would use more than one clamp if the length of the tube permits to lessen the chance of crushing the pipe and reducing flow.

                      Most of my stuff is at least 80psi...but I did look at that specifically. I've seen pressure exceed 80psi so I went for something a bit more heavy duty. On top of that, if I I can get it to not leak, I'll have it wrapped in stainless steel so it'll have some more protection.

                      It actually is plugged in...you can't see the wires very well in that shot.

                      The piping is really heavy. I've tried using multiple clamps and it still leaks. Biggest problem that I'm having is that the clamps are either all too small and won't wrap around the hose or they're too big and let two portions mushroom out which allows the leak.

                          Hmm well head to the nearest hydraulic shop with the hose and the cooler.

                          They can rig you up. The clamp you are using is a poor design. I know they are cheap but they apply pressure unevenly.
