    is the seat lock from a 1981 gs750 the same as 1982?

    Comparing part numbers is a good way to see what parts are interchangeable. Sorry, but I have no first hand knowledge of the 750 seats of which you are inquiring. But let me plug in the part number for the '81 GS750 seat lock into the alpha-sports.com parts fiche "Partsfinder" utility (under the "Special Tools" menu):

    Part number for the seat lock of an '81 GS750 is 95700-35821. It is also used on these bikes:

        I know this thread is really old, but it still comes up on internet search so...
        The part number for the seat lock on a 1982 GS750E is 95700-49830 LOCK SET SEAT

        The number given in response to the OP is for the helmet lock.
