    Speedo Cable Lengths

The 78 GS1000 has a cable length of approx 34". I need one that is longer. Anyone got anything on the shelf that they can measure for me or give me an approximate off the bike.

I suspect that the L model might be longer...

    Hi SM,
You could try the Kat 1100 speedo cable.
    I measured mine at a little over 40 inches ( 103 cm).

That would work I think John. Hope there is not a "Kat" premium on them

Remembered I had an 83 750ES cable in a box... Very surprised! The drive box end is different to the 78! Was only about an inch longer anyway.

Interesting because I'm also looking for a longer speedo cable for my Kat with a GSXR front end.
Does the drive box on the 83 750 ES also include a small scew to hold the cable in place?
If so, I suppose there must be an L model for the same year?
          Please advise.
          Thanks

No, I know the one you mean John, had one when I bought the GSXR front end for the 750. It's different to that as well.

Is your Kat one definitely the same as the 1000? I think you have both bikes.

1000 looks like this one: http://www.volarmotorsport.com/Tacho...100_p_997.html

This is the 750ES one: http://www.volarmotorsport.com/Speed...150_p_958.html

This one says it's for the L. Wonder if this one or other one linked above is longer... http://www.volarmotorsport.com/Speed...00_p_1158.html

I took a picture of a few of the speedo cables I have....
A sure sign of a sick mind
The two bottom ones are from unknow origin?
The next one up if from my 1100 Kat
The top one is from a GS 1000 S

On this picture you can see to the right the GSXR 1100 cable.
The Kat cable is missing here but the termination is exactly the same as the GS 1000's

Please note the Kat cable is approximately 97 cm or 39 inches.

Yes sir, that's the one you need
On my side, I found the "extended" GSXR 1100 K speedo cable
It's 97 cm long and the reference is 34910-13A01
