Speedometer sending unit 1981 GS 1000GLX
Hello, there. Cold weather here has caused my speedometer to stop working. Speedometer is ok Cable is ok Sending unit seems to be the problem. I removed the unit and removed the circlip and found that the gold coloured washer has the tabs broken off inside the sending unit. The tabs going to the wheel are ok. Trying to turn the cable end is very stiff and it feels like there is broken pieces inside. Does this unit come apart further and is there user serviceable parts (replaceable parts available) or is it better to just order a new sending unit??? Thanks Randy
