    bouncy mechanical tach

on idle my tach needle is nice and steady but while revving it or riding it the needle bounces alot is there a way to fix this

    #2
it doesnt have anything to do with the engine, the needle just bounds while coming back down

replacing the cable should cure it, providing the tacho itself is not faulty, which i doubt

take it off and remove the inner cable. if it looks bad or frayed then its scrap. if your lucky it may just be bone dry and rusty in which case a good clean up and loads of grease may save it
