Speedo cable differences '79/'80 ??

    Speedo cable differences '79/'80 ??

    My '80 GS1000(S) speedometer cable is ready to give up the ghost, and i have a new '79 cable on hand. Parts fiche #'s are different, but the cables themselves appear to be the same construct. Any problems using the '79? Thanks in advance.

      If it is the same length and has the same drive ends, don't see why it wouldn't work.

              Take the core out of it and just put it in your original sleeve.

              I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.
