I'm pretty sure the US & Canadian versions are the same, so the total fuel capacity is 5.8 gallons or just a shade under 22 liters.

I concur with JPaul. Factory literature and articles say 5.8 Gallons. Though I always wish for more. Like 8 at least.

          Damn,
My car gets the same gas mileage as my bike.

Per the owners manual, 5.0 gal total with 1.1 gal reserve.
The G models hold 5.8 gal.

              That's for the 80-81 GS1100E, the 82-83 have a bigger gas tank.

The '82-'83 GS1100E's hold 5.8 US Gallons including reserve which is 4.2 quarts.

According to the August 1982 issue of "Rider" magazine, the '82 EZ, (same as '83), it says "5 gals, with 1 gal reserve."I love what the article said at the end:
"Simply put: the Suzuki GS 1100EZ is the most highly refined and civilized big bike to ever come out of Japan. Not only that, it is the fastest too."
                  Cool huh?
