    Tachometer needle just bouncing??

I've gone through 2 tachs that seem to work when bike is idling but then needle just bounces around when I'm riding bike and settles down around 6k, replaced cable, gear in engine and no changes, pulled one tach apart to lube/clean and it worked for a week then bounce, bounce! Any ideas or tips?

I used some heavy grease in the speed o housing to dampen the speed o cable.

Did that work for you and solve the same issue? I'll give it a shot. With a drill attachment I made tach work fine so maybe it is the cable.
