    Help with 1980 GS1000 Shock location measurements

    Someone has changed where the upper shock mount goes. I was wondering if someone had a similar bike could measure a few things for me...

    - the frame part from the bend of frame right behind seat to the cross brace
    (Shown in yellow part A)
    - the frame part from the bend to the upper shock mount
    (shown in red part B)
    - the down brace to the swingarm pivot bolt to the top frame rail
    (shown in blue part C)
    - the shock mount gusset on the down brace
    (shown in blue part D)
    - the shock mount on the back straight part
    (shown in white part E)
    - Also how about the shock mount from the top part to center of mount and from the down brace to the center of the shock mount.

    I sure appreciate the help!!!

    Thanks

        ah, ok........

        A=300mm
        B=405mm
        C=390mm
        D=130mm
        E=250mm
        the last 2 are 20mm down from frame tube to centre of shock mount and 40mm from centre to forward down tube.

        hope that helps.

            EDIT....TAKE NOTE. i measured mine on the right hand side of the bike so the frame gusset that the top shock mounts onto is different to the left hand side. if you need the left side measurements as well i can do that for you.
            how or why has yours been modified, got any pics?

              Here is a blown up crappy image of the right side. From what i can tell, looks like they cut the gussets off and just welded a stud at the joint of the down brace.

              Thank you very much for the help!

                  All it is missing is just some straight 1" tubing. So not that big of miss. I just want to check all my heights and see if i need to lower the front to match. Or put it back to somewhat stock height. Good thing i have a good friend that is a welder/fabricator.
