I just did the valve clearances and wanted to mention that the soaking of the valve cover gasket in wd40 prior to installation worked quite well. The gasket came away cleanly from the cover as well as the head.Current Rides: 1980 Suzuki GS1000ET, 2006 H-D Fatboy, 2021 BMW K1600BTags: None

Interesting, A P-51 crew chief told me to use wheel bearing grease on gaskets so they come loose easy and it lets them squirm around while the engine warms up and everything stabilizes.
