Haven't seen you on here in a while, snackie. Can you clarify what you mean by "breaker" cover, and which screws?

EDIT- Agemax seems to know what you are talking about (he's good like that)

            Yup.

5x30...it's on the fiche. Most of the part numbers have this information.

              Breaker Cover Screw Too Short

Right side cover with the 3 screws, I think it's called the breaker cover.

I disappeared for 2 weeks and stopped bothering everyone, thought I might be getting on people's nerves but I'm back with a slew of questions for the wise ones.

The reason I'm asking this question is because one of those screws snapped on me. I tried everything from PB Blaster to a blow torch but couldn't get it out. At the same time, I had 2 valve cover bolts snapped off in the head and couldn't get those out. Finally, I pushed the bike down the street to a garage where it sat 2 weeks. They eventually got the valve cover bolts out, one they worked out and the other they welded a nut to.

The breaker cover bolt they had to drill out and he either retapped or put a heli in. He said I should be able to use the stock screw but mine is now too short. So, I need a longer screw.

That's the short story. Have a BIG carb question I'm about to post, if you have any insight, I would appreciate it.

              Thanks.

True enough...but when I read "breaker", my mind went to fuse box. Took me a second to switch back to motorcycle speak.

The screws that hold the cover on are actually #13 on the parts fiche and they don't give the size for that one.
