Moved House - Now only on street parking

Ok, so over the winter we have moved, and the bike is currently in storage. I want to get the bike out of storage, however we don't have a garage like we used to. We have on street parking, and a tiny grass area, and a small concrete porch to the side, with the grass and the porch area fenced in.

This would probably work for a cycle needing only minor maintenance, however at this point it needs the valve clearances checked, front brake rotor changed, swing-arm bearings, and a headlight conversion. I have the things for all of these, but not a place that the bike can be taken apart for longer than a day at a time.

Another issue is the neighbors two houses down. They sort of hate us at the moment, and have done things like key our cars, and park in the spots nearest our house instead of the open spots near theirs.

If I do the brake rotors a different day than the bearings and then do the headlight on a third, and the clearances on a fourth, and try to keep them to a day each that would be fine, but my dad and I tend to have things turn into multi-day events, especially when he gets home from work and has other things he needs to do.

I don't really have any buddies locally that I can borrow their garage, so thats out of the picture.

Any help or advice from people who ahve on-street parking only would be great.

i dont have a garage, or a garden with a shed or even a hard stand i can park my bike.
so, i keep it in my living room.

Why would you move to a house without a garage? That's going backward.

Maybe you can score a little steel or plastic shed to keep the bike in? You really don't want the bike exposed to the elements all the time even when it's running perfectly. Sheltered and locked is the way to go, with a quality cover in case you decide to leave it sit outside for more than a few hours at a time.

Reminds me of my last year in college. No table or chairs in the kitchen, just two motorcycles (CB350 & CB500). First-time visitors always got a kick out of that.

I'm graduating college this week, so living with my parents until I can get a job. They were the ones who picked the rental house without a garage, not me! It was supposed to be a "temporary" rental, but temporary has now turned into about 7 months, with not really any houses in sight for them.

My mother has a strict no motorcycles in the living room rule .

Once I move out, I don't care how the house looks, as long as it has a nice garage!

I say don't commit till you've seen her in shorts. There could be a lot of cellulite hiding under those jeans. Or worse yet - a "good personality."
