Breather pipe rocker cover

Hi

Is was a while ago that I removed the rocker cover from my GS550E but I am not sure yet if the breather pipe on the rocker cover is attached to anything apart from the rocker cover?
Normally on a car it goes to the airfilterhousing but the breather hose won't reach anything. Or is it just loose and venting into the open air?

It should run over the top of the carbs and connect to a nipple on the plastic section of the airbox.

It can't the pipe is too short and no nipple for that on the airbox

Today working in the light. Yesterday I was working in the dark with a light resting against the air filter to get some lights on the carbs. And that Is why I didn't see the pipe /connection on the airfilter housing. It did have it. Thanks for the tip
