Is there a point to the center stand?

Hah. I had parked up my old Beemer on its side-stand, went into a building and when I came out, was just in time to see an errant gust of wind lift the bike off the side-stand enough for the retracting spring to pull the stand up. Then the gust eased, the bike settled back down to the left, and kept going and going...Originally posted by Steve View Post. On the other hand, even being parked on the side stand, leaning into the wind, is no match for a breeze in Flori-duh that has gathered a bit of strength along the length of the hotel.

To get the center stand down you have to pull the bike up and back. If you haven't already check the manual, it explains where to hold the bike and pull while using your foot to push the stand down. Of course this is given it is the correct stand. Until you've done it it feels like it is too long. I had my son on the other side of the bike the first time because it was difficult to balance the bike and pull it up, until I got a feel for it. Just be sure to check the manual so you don't pull at the wrong spot and pull something loose. Hope this helps.
