    1982 GS850GLZ bogging down

    Guys,

My 1982 850GLZ has always tended to run lean and runs best with a heavily oiled foam filter. I have my air fuel mix screws out 3-3/4 turns. So now, when I took it for a spin after a very in depth and careful carb balance (its perfectly balanced and idles beautifully at 1100 rpm) , it bogs down as I hit the throttle and doesnt accelerate well and then as rpms climb around 6k rpm it pulls good to redline...but doesnt pull well at lower rpms...this ia a new issue...used to pulll fine through the rpm range.

Ideas? Best idle method drove me to 3-3/4 turns.. I could prob dial back to 3.5 but not much lower.

Sounds like the tiny holes in pilot citcuit aren't completely open. 3 to 4 turns out to get decent idle seems excesive. Since this is new issue, try a good dose of fuel cleaner (seafoam or somesuch). - But the stuff about always tending to run lean suggests carb cleaning is calling.
