I'm not sure if they still do it. But golf grips used to be installed with some kind of tape { masking tape I think } and gasoline.

Golf grips use double sided tape and solvent (not typically gasoline) to allow the grip to slide on. I'd be afraid of the grip turning or even coming off without any adhesive holding it in place.

I think the electrical tape turns into an adhesive, I'll cut it open later and find out. Going to twist, pull and otherwise try to make it come off first, dip it in water, etc.

This was an old bent bar I had laying around and a used grip getting thrown away anyway...

I think that's the theory. It's been forty seven years since I worked at a driving range but the pro used to mooch gas from the storage tank for the ball picker. { an Isetta, neat car }

You had an Isetta for a ball picker? Thousands of little golf ball dents on an Isetta? Using an Isetta for target practice? Did you hit it?

No pics. But using the Isetta as a target was pretty much a given among the staff......LOL There was some kind of steel mesh around it, but I can't remember if it was just over the windows or covered other parts of the car. I remember it being in pretty rough shape.

Golf club grips used two sided tape. Little squirt of lighter fluid in the grip and slide them on. Did a bunch of them that way.

This is the old fashioned way of doing it Tom. Try getting the buggers off in a year or so.....
