    Drop the Swingarm?

So I have an endless chain that I would like to put on my bike. 1982 GS750T.

    Option 1:
Drop the swingarm and put on. I have the back wheel off now. Do I need to unbolt the shocks to lower the swingarm to give me enough room to slide in chain?

    Option 2:
    Install a riveted masterlink.

    What do you suggest??

Drop the swingarm, that way you can also grease the swingarm bearings.
