    Question for the UK guys

I'm about to fit a new clutch to my GS and was wondering what oil do you use that is easily available here in the UK?
    thanks in advance

I can see Snowdon on a fine day, does that count as UK ?
Shell Rotella has the popular vote in the US. Can't find it here.
I'm using 15W40 mineral oil for older diesel cars and light trucks. Lots of different vendors from Halfords to Factors to Agri supply.
The word is avoid anything 'energy saving' if you are worried about additives causing clutch slip.
If you fancy a bit of reading.

Personally I have used silcolene super4 semi synthetic 10-40 not cheap but never had a problem with it, having said that I recently did a top end overhaul honed bores new rings valve ect. Whilst running in I used carplan 10-40 straight mineral oil it specs up pretty well and I seriously considered using it full time £16 for 5 litres.

Castrol GTX for diesels. Used it for years/ 0000's of miles and it's fine. I change it every 3-4k roughly and I reckon that's as important as the choice of oil but seeing as I've never had any oil related problems can't say for sure.

I've been using various car 20w50, 15w40 and 10w40 for years with not a bit of trouble - this was largely because the bike-specific oils were over-priced and only easily available from motorcycle dealers. All that has changed in recent times and now I'm getting bike-specific oil from Westway Lubes in the UK, via ebay, for a decent price.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111824116105 This one will do for the old nails, but Westway also offer a decent range of other oils.

I've always used a semi-synth 10-40. No particular brand and I've never fell for the 'motorcycle oil' marketing. Guess what it's virtually the same oil but a bit dearer.

When our bikes were new there was only mineral oil available so anything is an improvement over those.
