Gearbox problem after oil change

Hello just did my first oil change on a new bike 82 750t. Now the shifting is tougher and louder I used Rotella 15-40. Level is on the low side, need more oil than I ol thought after the oil filter. Any ideas why? Ps. The shift was just in driveway, I haven't taken it on the road since

That Rotella is a little thick especially in the cold weather.

So you think I can attribute loud shift to that. Would it improve with warmup?

I'd let it get good and warmed up and see if it gets better. I use the Rotella here in Texas and I've noticed as our temps get cooler that the clutch seems to drag a little and its a little harder to shift until its good and warmed up.
