    braided hose - uk purchase

    Hello,

I have a 1979 GS550E, single disc brake on the front.

The brake is pretty S*** and even after a good bleed, I can almost pull the brake lever to the handle bar. I think the rubber brake hose is old and needs replacing..

I have been looking online for braided hosts but can't seem to get the cost down - £80 seems a bit to much money?

Any ideas how I can source a lower cost braided brake hoses? Maybe I should just stick to rubber?

    cheers

      Thank you !!!

What would you recommend for a brake service kit? Thinking new seals?

I would get hold of Nick Chambers and ask him if he's got a stainless piston and a new seal for your bike. He's a Yamaha guy mainly but does some Suzuki brake parts. Sound guy.

If you go stainless it's fit and forget.

Heres a link to an eBay item he's selling:

        79 GS1000S
        79 GS1000S (another one)
        80 GSX750
        80 GS550
        80 CB650 cafe racer

Have you not been in contact with Goodridge? They make hoses in the UK fr a price that still makes sense to have them shipped here, so I would think they'd be reasonable

If you're in the uk and you want braided brake hoses made up and West Bromwich is within your reach, go see James Lister Motorsport under the M5 between juncts1&2
