So my question is, are there any side stands that will bolt to my GS1100E on that are a little shorter?

Shorter Side Stand for 82' GS1100E ?
I've added a set of forks and front rim from an 87 GSXR1100 to my 82 GS1100 and the forks are a little shorter... no biggie really. But... my kickstand is a little too long and although the bike is ok on level ground, I really don't trust it much from tipping in the real world. Before you suggest I use the center stand... it was removed some time ago.

I don't recall, but I might have just cut a section out of the kickstand just above the foot and had it re welded. Given the problem of attaching the odd kickstand, it would seem that modification would be the easiest path forward.Comment

There are adjustable kick stands out there for lowered sport bikes but the cut and weld method would be the easiest and cheapest method.I've added a set of forks and front rim from an 87 GSXR1100 to my 82 GS1100 and the forks are a little shorter... no biggie really.
