10 Points to Whoever Can Name this Mystery Part(s) I Found in my Bike

Ok ... cleaning up the engine on my GS650G basket case I am (hopefully) bringing back to life. I've mounted it on a Harbor Freight automotive engine stand using some custom brackets I hacked out of some left over job I likely never finished around the house. When I rotated the engine to clean the underside ... whatever you want to call it these two little pieces fell to the ground. I suspect they'd dropped at some point on to the engine's horizontal surface and fell out when I tipped engine.

The little pin looks familiar and the spring ... well its a spring - don't recognize it. It's not a carb air/fuel screw spring. That much I know.

And BTW the points are not redeemable for anything special ... matter of fact - nothing, just bragging rights.

Either the detent plunger for the neutral stop that clicks into the shift drum..or the neutral pin that touches the switch and makes the dash light come on.

I would rather trust my bike to a "QUACK" that KNOWS how to fix it rather than a book worm that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix it.

I believe you win ... 09209 - 05011 ... appears to be the contact switch/pin and spring for the gear selector signal mechanism (my terminology). I took the gizmo off and must have left the pin/spring behind and it fell out.

        Thanks! IOU 10 points.

These little parts are now safely bagged and tagged awaiting re-assembly hopefully within the next month so she'll be roadworthy by spring.
